Probably the most look alike son of the great GALERO is *DIAMANTE, who personally possess and produces a number of traits that make the GALERO

horses outstanding. Captivating Spanish eyes, beautiful movement at the trot

that showcases the beauty (also inherited from his dam SAETA), and a pretty

and natural tail carriage. A'curly' neck that breaks perfectly into the bridle, smoothness throughout the deep loin and back. A willing attitude and sweet

temperament, (*DIAMANTE has never met a person he didn"t like), sparkling show ring presence, always aware of putting on a show, and loving a crowd.

I am reminded of the story of CONGO, (found on all four male lines in

*DIAMANTES pedigree, three times as his great-grandsire, and once as his

great-great grandsire) who was requested to be seen by a group of visitors at

the Spanish Military stud. CONGO at that time was of advanced age and not

well, however, the visitors insisted. So the soldier slowly led him out of the stable. The old horse was moving along quietly, his head carried low. When he

looked up and saw the audience, his head came up, the eyes came to life, and

he began prancing as he was led into the arena. The crowd rose to their feet to applaud the gallant horse. CONGO died a short time later.

"DIAMANTE more resembles CONGO in his short back, extreme correctness, and produces that way.

The intent of Dave and Molly Stanley, when they sent SAETA, (by JACIO) to be bred to GALERO was to unite two of the most beautiful of the Spanish

lines. The resulting "DIAMANTE (diamond, in Spanish) was all they had hoped

to see as far as beauty goes. "Imagine our delight to discover that all the *DIAMANTE offspring LOVE to jump. All of them we have do, and we have

recently heard from Katie Johnson, who purchased the *DIAMANTE daughter QUESTAA (X GRANADA I) that at three she jumped clean out of a five foot

paddock from a standstill. Fortunately Katie was thrilled, as she plans to have

QUESTAA shown in the hunter/jumper division."
