This is one of Australia's major shows and it is the lead up to the 1999 show
season. Many National Stud show champions have gone on to be named
Australian Champions. This year the competition was very tough with many big

their show ring debut!

Comments:
The champion filly Simeon Shiraz is an extremely typey, liver chestnut filly
with a a gorgeous flaxen mane and tail. She has an exquisite head and neck,
very correct body conformation and lovely flowing movement. Her sire, Asfour
is the sire of 3 Australian Halter Champions as well as been the sire of the
world acclaimed 'Simeon Sadik' who was 1996 Salon Du Cheval World Reserve
Champion Stallion. Shiraz's mother, 'Simeon Shuala' was the 1997 Australian
Reserve Champion mare and is a daughter of the US Triple Crown Champion
Stallion, Simeon Shai. Shiraz is the favourite for the up and coming
Australian Championships in the filly division.  The reserve was the lovely
'Psyches Serenade' who was concieved by frozen semen and is one of the few
in Australia to do so. It will be exciting to watch her future as 'Padron's
Psyche' has been such a success as a sire in the United States. The judge,
Dr Nikolaus Jung, of Germany commented on the exceptional quality of the
fillies.

Champion- Eastwinds Axceptional (Eastwinds Axplosion x Essencia)
Reserve- Redwood Lodge Abadaar (Om El Abadan x Om El Amira Estopa)

Comments:

The Colts as always were not as exciting as the fillies but the class
winners were generally of a good standard. The champion, 'Eastwinds
Axceptional' is a son of 1996 Australian Top Colt 'Eastwinds Axplosion' a
double grandson of  El Shaklan. 'Axceptional's' dam is the three times
Australian Top Ten Mare 'Essencia' a daughter of Ali Jamaal and grand-
daughter of El Shaklan. 'Eastwinds Axceptional' is a typey, steel grey colt,
with a pleasing head and neck.
The Reserve Champion colt was 'Redwood Lodge Abadaar', an exceptional, grey
colt who is linebred to the legendary Estopa. His sire 'Om El Abadan' was
the 1997 World Reserve Champion Stallion in Paris, and his dam is a maternal
sister to OE Abadan by the great sire, Sanadik El Shaklan. This colt is a
half brother to the curren Salon Du Cheval World Champion Colt, 'Espano
Estopa' (Om El Abadan x Malikah Estopa) and he will probably be exported to
Europe in the future to be shown.

Leading Sire of Junior Geldings- Fame Maker R

Comments:
The champion junior gelding was 'Chancellor' who was champion at this show
in 1996 as a yearling. He is a very pretty grey gelding, with lovely big
eyes and a lovely head. Like most 'GLF Apollo' progeny he is well put
together and moves well. GLF Apollo is a grandson of the legendary, Padron
and is one of the leading sires in the country. The reserve champion
gelding, 'Fairview Light My Fire' is a full brother to many well know show
horses and his sire SK Shakla Khan, after a successful show career, has
proved to be a leading sire in Australia.

Comments: The champion gelding, 'Arakyle Ahsrein' made his first appearance
at an 'AA' show and true to his pedigree he proved what a quality animal he
is. He is a full brother to the 1989 Australian Champion Stallion 'Amazing
Sachaar' and is every bit as full of quality as him. Once again an SK Shakla
Khan son, stood in the winners circle and this time it was 'D'Amors Shakarny
Khan'.

Champion- Mulawa Behold (GLF Apollo x Amurath Beguile)
Reserve- Mulawa Angelica (Wanted KE x Mulawa Angelique)

Comments: The mares were of an excellent standard and I think the 4 year class
was truly world class! The eventual champion, 'Mulawa Behold' is one of the
first foals of the aformentioned, GLF Apollo (Diamond Padron x Per Brio).
Her dam, Amurath Beguile (imp USA), is a daughter of Ramses Fayek and she
was a past US National Futurity Champion Filly. She has now ,for many years,
been a premier broodmare for Mulawa Arabians. Mulawa Behold has been a
successful show horse for many years now and she has been an Australian Top
Top Ten filly one one occassion as well as many other 'AA' awards. She is a
very feminine, almost white, mare with excellent conformation and strength.
The reserve champion was also from the Mulawa stable and this was Mulawa
Angelica, a daughter of the predominantly Polish stallion, Wanted KE, who
has been one of the leading show stallions in the country for many years and
is now proving to be a very consistent sire. 'Angelica's' dam is Mulawa
Angelina, a grand daughter of Jamil.

2. Sabbatai (Simeon Shai x Serrefa)

Champion- TS Al Malik (Hello Barich ELS x BF Tiffany Select)
Reserve- Sarezin (Simeon Sa'ar x Malsmbury Samira)

Comments: The champion stallion will come to no surprise to American Arabian
enthusiasts. The great show stallion, TS Al Malik, who has amassed such
awards as Brazilian National Champion Colt, Scottsdale Reserve Champion
Senior Stallion and twice US National Top Ten Stallion is now showing his
stuff in Australia. And what a show it has proved to be for his owners,
Mulawa Arabians! They took out Champion Stallion, Champion and Reserve
Champion Mare, Champion Junior Gelding, Senior Gelding place and their 1997
Australian Champion Stallion, Fame Maker R (Fame VF x Inschallah El Shaklan)
sired many of the winners and placegetters of the yearling classes. The
judge, Mr James Brown (USA), was very happy with TS Al Malik and commented
on his great structure, movement and type.
The reserve is the young stallion, Sarezin, a grandson of El Shaklan and
Ansata Ibn Halima. Sarezin is a huge, masculine stallion, very developed for
his age with loads of charisma. He was an Australian Top Ten Stallion
earlier in the year as a four year old. Another impressive winner was the
4yo, Simeon Sokaret, who made his debut appearance in the stallion ring
after been named 1998 Australian National Champion Colt. He is a black colt,
with a bit of maturing to do but he will one to watch for in the future.
