We no longer offer any video programs in the DVD or VHS format. We have opened an internet store to distribute large numbers of programs that would not be possible in these older formats. To keep our inventory costs and delivery costs down we have to use the internet to deliver programming. We acknowledge the fact that some of our customers still have dial up modem connections and in some cases they do not have access to high speed internet. We also realize that not all of you prefer to watch programs only on your computers, we have researched this and discovered there are at least three ways you can send your computer screen to your TV set.

IAHA 50TH Anniversary

This is one video tape that should be in every Arabian horse owners reference library.

IAHA began with the love of a beautiful horse.  Its’ fifty year history is a saga of the personalities, horses, ideas and enthusiasm that moved the association forward.

As with any undertaking of this nature, it was a difficult job to select just a few people and horses from the past 50 years.  This presentation is merely a glimpse into that past of the people and the horses that contributed to IAHA’s rich history.  Vintage black and white photos of Sunday shows and trail rides, rare footage of stallions and pioneer breeders, and current video of national winners and the owners who are making sure that the Arabian breed has a place in future generations of Arabian horse enthusiasts.

You will feel a sense of pride in the history of the beautiful Arabian horse and the people in the United States and Canada that have brought the breed to its current level of stature in North America.

Hear about Ranch Trials, the IAHA Queens, the Arabian Horse Foundation, the Golden Book, Achievement Awards, Breeders Sweepstakes, and how Earle Hurlbutt, IAHA’s first president, loaned IAHA the money to buy the Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian Registries. Then, there are the horses -- rare footage of famous Arabians such as Skowronek,* Raffles, Indraff, Witez II, *Bask, Fadjur, *Serafix, Khemosabi, *Sanacht, Bint Sahara, *Orzel, Mujahid, Susecion, Tasliya and many more.

This video was a cooperative effort of IAHA and the Arabian Horse Legacy Inc.

JOHNNY JOHNSTON VIDEO

Johnny Johnston is a world class photographer whose work has appeared in publications around the world.  He set new photographic standards and invented a technique he calls verticality.  His work is truly an art form.

His photography enhanced the presentation of Arabian horses and stirred emotions worldwide.  His breath taking images spurred new interest in the Arabian horse and their popularity grew as he captured the finest qualities of the Arabian horse in a whole new light.

One book, “THE ARABIAN”, published by Boldheart Publications is devoted exclusively to Johnny’s magnificent career and is a showcase of nearly fifty years photographing the Arabian Horse.

This video was taken at the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse library in Pomona California and captures Johnny rapping with some of his friends - Melissa Paul, Janet Stevenson, Maggie Nicol, Sharon Byford Ruth and Ferman Ansel.  You will experience a rare glimpse of these people, as they share stories about themselves and their personal experiences with some of the people and favorite horses in the Arabian breed.

Rarely, do you ever capture the true essence of a subject like Johnny Johnston did, however, this piece of video would have been a Johnston masterpiece.  You will see and hear the Johnny that his closest friends know.  Johnny Johnston has left his legacy and for a brief moment in time, I captured him at his best.  As Johnny would say when he took his best shot “take him to the barn”.  It was a pleasure.     Ferman Ansel

PS: I was going to edit this before releasing it ,But  when Johnny saw the original he bought a dozen copes for his friends and said leave it like it is.

It is funny, even called a riot by Melissa Paul the Curator of the W. K. Kellog Arabian Horse Library. Sandy Rolland, Publisher of several Arabian horse books reminded me of  how wonderful it is to discover a different  side of some of the famous people in the breed.

And my personal opinion is that the photographic tips Johnny reveals  are worth a hundred times more than the cost of this video tape.

Running time is over one hour.

Click on title for more info Russian Influence Vol #1

More than 40 imported Russian horses including SALON, MUSCAT, PADRON, SR NADOM, PRISTAN, TAMERLAN, NARIADNI, HALYCON, etc. are arranged by common ancestors such as ARAX, PRIBO, ASWAN.

Description of Russian Influence; video, volume 1:

Eighty-two registered Arabian horses came directly from the USSR to America when I began video taping them in 1980. Russian bloodlines have influenced one hundred thirty-eight of the horses imported from Holland and the Netherlands. I have video taped the majority of them.

Thirty-one Stallions and fifty-eight Mares were included in the Arabian Horse Legacy Encyclopedia. These horses were chosen to be video taped in order to display their significant features to the North American breeding programs.

Analyzing the pedigrees of these magnificent animals allowed me to trace these significant features back to the Stallion SALON, whose Sire was NEGATIW. Other Features, displayed through the video, traced back to the Stallions, PRIBOJ, ASWAN, and ARAX. These significant features are clearly viewed in the third generation offspring.

The horses, in each group on this video tape, were selected by reference to their ancestors who appear in their pedigree. The first group of horses have the SALON ancestors that are out of PRIBOJ mares with a cross to ARAX. The next group of eleven horses compares the SALON, PRIBOJ, and ASWAN cross. Another group consists of seventeen ASWAN offspring and compares the Stallions ARAX, and PRIBOJ, with emphasis on their significant features. The last group of horses compares ARAX, PRIBOJ, NASEEM, ASWAN, and the Stallion OFIR in their pedigree. Approx: running time: 45 minutes

Forty eight straight Egyptian horses arranged by the sire lines of FADL, NAZEER and SAMEH crossed to NAZEER. In this tape, you will see IBN FA SERR, AK EL ZAHRA MONIET, *KOFO, IBN MORAFIC, SHAH NISHAN, *TUHOTMOS, *SERENITY BINT MAMLOUKA, *SOUFIAN, *SERENTIY SONBOLAH, *IBN HAFIZA, * EL MAREEKH, *SAKR, NABIEL and thirty-five more significant Egyptian bred Arabian horses.

Description of Egyptian Influence; video, volume 1:

The Arabian horses bred in Egypt have influenced the breed in North America for over 100 years. When I began video taping them in 1980, I had no idea one colt born in Egypt would be so significant.

In the twenty some years I spent filming this encyclopedia, tens of thousands of horses have been observed. Sixty-two Stallions and seventy-seven mares were included in this encyclopedia. These horses were chosen to be video taped to display their significant features to the North American breeding programs.

When the pedigrees of these horses were analyzed, I discovered that these horses traced to the Stallion RABDAN EL AZRAK. Of these horses, 90% of them traced to the Stallion MANSOUR. More than 50 U.S. National or Reserve Halter Champions have traced to RABDAN EL AZRAK since 1958. RABDAN EL AZRAK is found 10 times in the pedigree of the 1980 U.S. National Champion Mare FA HALIMA, and 14 times in the 1971 National Champion Stallion ANSATA IBN SUDAN.

Other National champions that trace to him are *MARSIANIN, PADRON, KHEMOSABI, FADJUR, and SERENITY SONBOLAH. I discovered that the Stallion *FADL was by IBN RABDAN, MAAROUFA was by IBN RABDAN as were HAMDAN and SHAHLOUL, and IBN RABDAN was by RABDAN EL AZRAK. SAMEH was by ELMOEZ whose dam was by RABDAN EL AZRAK. RABDAN EL AZRAK was the grandsire of both the sire and dam of MANSOUR who was the sire of NAZEER.

This video tape follows RABDAN EL AZRAK influence through the sire lines of *FADL , NAZEER, and SAMEH crossed to NAZEER. Forty Eight Horses are in this video.
