I have an almost 4 year old quarter horse mare that is quite willful and very intelligent to top it off. I have always wanted to own an Arabian horse so I have contemplated breeding my mare to an Arabian but have been told to do so would produce an unmananageable offspring. I have never owned an Arabian but have always dreamed of having one. I would rather have a half-Arabian than none. From everything that I have seen and read, an Arabian is a calm, willing companion horse. Would breeding my willful quarterhorse mare to an Arabian bring me an unmanageable horse? From what I have gathered about Arabians, they are of an even disposition and quite intelligent. Is that not so. Please, anyone out there who has bred a Quarterhose to an Arabian, I would love to hear the outcome. It is my fantasy to own at least a part Arabian as they are, always have been, and always will be my dream horse. They are without a doubt the most beautiful horse God has ever put on this earth and if I can even have a part Arabian, I will be happy. It has taken me 30 years to get my Quarterhorse and I intend to get my part-Arabian before I die. I am now 50 years old and am still striving for my 'dream horse'. Please tell me all that your know aobut and Quarterhose and Arabian breed. I realize that it has now become a recognized breed. I am not rich, but I am full of love and devotion to any horse that I have. I not only have my mare, but we are keeping a Paint gelding for a friend and I love and cherish them both. Please send my any information that you may have. I have been told that I am stupid of thinking of breeding my mare to an Arabian. I would like to hear stories of the outcomes of people who have done it. I would appreciate any messages that I get in regard to this situation. Thank you and God bless all you horse loving people.
Sincerely,
Linda Rudolph
